Cajun BBQ Sauce

JD Seasonings Cajun is the perfect ingredient for BBQ sauce with its smokey flavour and a nice kick, this sauce works fantastic with Chicken, Pork, Beef, Fish and vegetables.
- Half a pot of JD Seasonings Cajun
- 500g Passata
- 1/2 an Onion, diced
- 1 Garlic clove, peeled and crushed.
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 tbsp Tomato puree
- 1 tbsp balsamic Vinegar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp White wine Vinegar
- 6 tbsp Sweetener or alternatively use 2 tbsp of dark brown sugar
- Low calorie cooking spray
Spray a pan with low calorie cooking spray, place over a medium heat, add the Onions and fry until soft and starting to brown then add the crushed Garlic and cook for a further minute.
Add the balsamic Vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, White wine vinegar, lemon juice and tomato puree and mix well.
Add half a pot of JD’s Cajun and sweetener or brown sugar, mix well, then pour in the Passata.
Bring to a boil then turn the heat down and cook for 15 minutes.
Allow the sauce to cool a little then blend using a hand blender.
